On Tuesday, 28th July 17:45, guided tours (in German and English) through the New Botanical Garden of the University of Marburg will be offered. The New Botanical Garden is located on the Lahn Mountains, close to the Department of Biology.
We have hired a bus to bring you to the botanical garden and back to the conference center.
If you are interested to join, please subscribe at the registration desk up on arrival in Marburg until Monday 26 July latest. We can take two groups of max each 25 delegates.
The New Botanical Garden in Marburg covers an area of about 20 ha and, hence, is one of the largest in Germany. Along the classical divisions, e.g. a system, an arboretum, divisions for medicinal and useful plants it also comprises a large Alpinum, a Rhododendron Grove and a Fern Canyon. The latter has been created through a gully formed by the medieval trade road Köln-Leipzig. The greenhouses exhibit tropical and subtropical plants, e.g. in the Large Tropics House, Fern House, Victoria House (tropical bog and water plants), Succulents House, and the Outback and Canary Islands Houses (endemics). The Useful Plants House shows plants whose products we may daily use.
The one hour guided tour will show greenhouses and outside facilities - "also behind the scenes". After the guided tour you may explore the garden by yourself.
Please check the announcements at the registration desk!

Depending on subscriptions received a second tour might be arranged Thursday lunch time.
